One of seven boat-access-only campgrounds on Bunga Arm, a 250m sand barrier separating the Gippsland Lakes from Bass Strait. 10 numbered tent-only sites, non-flush toilets, fireplaces, picnic tables. Good fishing (bream, flathead, skipjack, mullet on the lake side; salmon and snapper ocean side), kayaking, swimming. Max 6 people/site, 3-week max stay. Nearest boat launch at Paynesville. No dogs.
Access is manageable but take the last stretch slowly, especially after rain.
On the ground you'll find basic (non-flush) toilets, no showers, unpowered sites, fires allowed in designated fireplaces (never on Total Fire Ban days). Nearest shops: Boat access only — nearest shops are at Golden Beach (Foodworks), across the lake, so arrive fully stocked.
