The main and largest campground in Wilsons Promontory National Park, on the west coast framed by Tidal River and Norman Beach, with Mount Oberon rising above. Around 475-484 unpowered and powered (20) sites, split across several blocks. Amenity blocks with toilets and hot showers, laundry, dishwashing stations, free gas BBQs, playground. General store (basic groceries, no fuel — nearest fuel is Yanakie/Fish Creek/Foster, 30-45 min drive) and a cafe. No dogs, no fires (gas BBQs only). Bookings required and highly recommended well ahead, especially summer/school holidays/long weekends.
Access is manageable but take the last stretch slowly, especially after rain.
On the ground you'll find proper toilets, showers, powered sites, no fire pits (gas cooking only). Nearest shops: Tidal River General Store, ~0.1km — on-site — handy for anything you forget.
It sits roughly 225 km from Melbourne in the Wilsons Prom / Gippsland, which makes it a reasonable run for a weekend away.
